Martin Riebeek usually works in public space via commissions. Hence, Riebeek's drawing in the collection is a commentary on public space. A meticulous, dotted pencil drawing with just a hint of colour here and there. Riebeek thus softens the chilly architecture and almost reduces it to dust with his way of drawing. The comment "I want to go somewhere, but not enter anywhere" is critical, perhaps even desperate. In fact, he holds up a mirror to the viewer with the question: "Is this a place you want to be?"
