In the collection, a set of 2500 very small white glazed porcelain objects is presented. The title "porcelain houses" refers to the contents of this set. The house shape is recognisable in each object: either as a concrete form or in referring to a house or home. Jordaan was inspired by the hard, often violent aspects of daily world events. 9/11, tsunamis, wars, nuclear power plants, beheadings, airplane disasters, everything passes in his porcelain story. Together with the other house objects, these porcelain events complement a full sculpture of 2500 objects. The two drawings of starry skies are part of a series. They are drawings meticulously constructed with dots. Both with the porcelain sculpture as with the drawings, Jordaan manifests an obsessive work process.
