We have two works by Inne in our collection. What they have in common is that they are both extremely alienating; for me, Inne’s work has a very physical effect, as if I have to reorient myself again and again.
‘Dawg’ is a mesmerising installation consisting of a film accompanied by motorised drums – they are acoustic speakers, and the vibrations are palpable. Meanwhile, the film, played back in extreme slow motion, shows images of dogs running interspersed with shots of stones being thrown up
In the film ‘Gezicht tussen N 53 12.484, E 7 2.655 en N 53 16.052, E 7 2.310’
a 1965 bus drives through the flat North Groningen countryside. The camera is positioned in the middle of the bus and maintains a fixed direction. If the bus were a boat, you would understand what is happening. The bus turns and the camera remains focused on a point in the view as the bus rotates within the frame.
The camera holds its course like a sailing boat through the meadows, a green sea.
