Peter and I had both decided straight away that our first exhibition at the Showdepot would feature young artists. We felt that an extensive ‘Maidentrip’ would be a good way to start. After all, we’d missed out on two years due to the move.
Maidentrip has always been a valuable way for us to connect with the youngest generation of artists. In the past, it has led to wonderful acquisitions and to valuable new contacts that we cherish. I would like to continue that. In this edition of Maidentrip, we are showing work by twelve graduates from BEAR ArtEZ and Fine Art HKU.
Four scouts (Frank Koolen, Gijs Assmann, Hester Oerlemans, Lieven Hendriks) have made a shortlist for me from all those graduates of ’24 and ’25.
From the sixteen artists proposed, I chose eight:
Inne Feenstra (HKU)
Irene Donatini (ArtEZ)
Joost Hutjes (HKU)
Josquin Elbers (ArtEZ)
Julia van Dijck (HKU)
Linne Guldemond (HKU)
Yubin Lee (ArtEZ)
Yiyang Zhou (ArtEZ)
This summer, I will select four more graduates during this year's final exams.
