In SETUP 05, we are exhibiting around forty works. These include works that have been featured in virtually every SETUP exhibition. However, there are also many new works on display. It is challenging to make a selection from a collection of around 350 works. This means that every time, there are works that we would have liked to show but cannot. Maybe next time, we think. Once the choices have been made, the locations selected and all the works hung, placed or laid out, the time has come. The public can come.
This SETUP is the first to feature a booklet. This guide takes you from room to room, from work to work. The words outline the context of the work as we see it. It is not educational, but rather interpretative. When viewing art and reflecting on it, it is essentially “every man for himself”. Do not expect to find the meaning or depth of the work in this guide. We cannot provide that; you have to discover and judge it for yourself. Because no one has a monopoly on wisdom, not even in art. Everyone looks with their own eyes and ultimately decides for themselves what they see. That is the beauty of art: nothing is imposed on you, no opinion, no judgement. Art speaks silently, at most. What is certain is that the presence of art and looking at art sets your thoughts in motion and sometimes takes you down unexpected paths.

Please take the following into account: Our staircase is transparent; everyone can see through it. You walk on a steel rack through which narrow heels can sink. Slippers or similar footwear are available as an alternative to high-heeled shoes.

How do you get there
The Showdepot has two entrances.
If you are coming on foot, by bike or by public transport, please use the entrance at Nieuwe Havenweg 31.
If you are coming by car, please park at Cleantech Park Arnhem and use the entrance at Westervoortsedijk 73.
However, you are free to choose which entrance to use.
Cycle
Approximately 12 minutes from Arnhem Centraal station (OV-fiets).
Use the entrance at Nieuwe Havenweg 31.
Public transport
From Arnhem Centraal station, take bus route 12 or 43 to the Haven stop (approx. 10 minutes).
From there, it is a 9-minute walk to the entrance at Nieuwe Havenweg 31.
Car

Parking is available at Cleantech Park Arnhem. When you purchase a ticket, you will receive, in addition to your admission ticket, a QR code that allows you to drive straight through the Cleantech Park barrier. There is no need to check in with the gatekeeper. Charging points for electric cars are also available on site.
